10th March 2014, Bhubaneswar: A National Seminar was organized at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the topic  “ Neurodegeneration: Challenges & Management”. Prof. K P Mohanakumar, Chief Scientist & Head, PME, Cell Biology & Physiology Division, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, as the chief speaker highlighted the advancement in pharmacology strategy of Parkinson’s Disease.

Prof. Debasish Hota, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, elucidated  different aspects of neuropathic pain and scope and challenges of drug discovery.

In the afternoon session Dr. Chandan Goswami and Dr. Subhasis Chattopadhyay, Reader – F, School of Biological Sciences, National Institute of Science Education & Research, Bhubaneswar, highlighted on ion – channel involvement   & neuro – immuno response in neurodegeneration. Prof. S. C. Si convened the seminar, Dr. D. Das, Dr. D. M. Kar, Dr. S. Mallick and Dr. P. K. Sahu chaired different Scientific sessions in the seminar.

Participants from different Pharmacy & Medical Colleges actively participated in the seminar. The seminar was a perfect platform for interactions of researchers working in the field of neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. L. D. Moharana has conducted the seminar and Dr. B. B. Subudhi has given the concluding remarks and vote of thanks.
